Anne Stratman joined the Office of the General Counsel in November 2013. Her practice area focuses on intellectual property and business transactions. At the University, Mr. Stratman supports technology transfer, trademarks, research-related activities, and various other business and strategic transactions at the University.
Prior to joining the University, Ms. Stratman worked at two premier national law firms, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati in Palo Alto, California, and Perkins Coie in Phoenix, Arizona. She also worked as in-house counsel to Microchip Corporation, where she handled all legal aspects of Microchip’s intellectual property licensing business, which brought in approximately $100 million per year in licensing revenues. At both firms and at her previous in-house experience, Ms. Stratman gained specialized knowledge in mergers, acquisitions, international, tax, and other business issues, with a primary focus on the intellectual property and technology aspects of these transactions. Ms. Stratman brings a unique specialization in technology commercialization, deep knowledge of international business and legal issues, and also actively works to deliver presentations and training on various intellectual property and business-related topics at the University.
Ms. Stratman is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara (B.A., 1997) and the University of California Hastings College of the Law (J.D., 2001, cum laude). Ms. Stratman is licensed to practice law in Arizona and California.
