Celeste Steen joined the University of Arizona Office of the General Counsel in July 2011. Prior to joining the University, Ms. Steen was an equity partner in the business transaction section of a regional law firm where she focused on real estate transactions, financing, commercial leasing, loan restructuring, and workouts. Ms. Steen also served as a judicial law clerk in the Federal District Court of Arizona.
Ms. Steen provides legal advice and representation in a wide variety of transactional matters related to the business affairs of the University including real estate, finance, construction, transportation, gifts, intergovernmental activities, and international matters.
Ms. Steen received her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, and her J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Arizona. She is licensed to practice law in the states of Arizona and Colorado. Ms. Steen is a past chair of the Arizona State Bar Real Property Section, and she is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Colorado Bar Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
