Emma Blumenthal

Associate General Counsel

Emma K. Blumenthal joined the University of Arizona Office of the General Counsel in August 2021. Her practice focuses on intellectual property, art and museum law, and student affairs matters.

Prior to joining the University, Ms. Blumenthal served as an Associate Attorney with a private firm in Washington, D.C., where she concentrated on counseling and enforcement of copyright and trademark matters. She previously served as a Law Clerk to Judge Richard G. Taranto of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and as an Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Copyright Office in the Barbara A. Ringer Honors Program.

Ms. Blumenthal is a graduate of the University of Arizona (B.A., 2013, summa cum laude), where she was a Flinn Scholar, and Stanford Law School (J.D., 2016). She is a member of the State Bars of Arizona, California, and Washington, D.C. She is also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, the American Bar Association Art & Cultural Heritage Law Committee, and ArtTable.
