It is with a mixture of pride and sadness that The Office of the General Counsel announces the departure of Judith E. Leonard, Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel. Ms. Leonard has left The University of Arizona to assume new responsibilities as General Counsel for the Smithsonian Institution. We extend our heartfelt congratulations on her new appointment, as well as our gratitude for her accomplishments, guidance and wise counsel during her almost eleven years at The University of Arizona.
Lynne O. Wood has transitioned from her role as Deputy General Counsel to serve as Interim Vice President for Legal Affairs and Interim General Counsel, effective June 6, 2009. Under Ms. Wood's leadership, the Office of the General Counsel will continue to provide our campus community with the strong support and services upon which we depend.
