University Attorney
David Nix has been part of the University's legal staff since 1993. His service to the campus is focused on real estate transactions, business transactions, Fair Labor Standards Act, public information law and student records privacy. He also works on trust and endowment issues and institutional relationships with affiliated organizations. He was in private legal practice before joining The University of Arizona. He also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arizona and was a staff attorney for U.S. Representative Morris K. Udall. He was previously employed in journalism as a reporter and film and drama critic.
He is currently a member of the Arizona State Bar and its sections on business and real estate law, National Association of College and University Attorneys, and the Pima County Bar Association. Mr. Nix earned his law degree from The University of Arizona College of Law (J.D., 1974), and his B.A. degree in History from Yale University.
