Obtaining Legal Advice from the Office of the General Counsel

The Office of the General Counsel provides legal advice to The University of Arizona on a wide range of issues. If you are already working directly with a member of our staff, you are welcome to contact that individual directly with additional questions or new matters. If your current OGC contact is unable to assist, he or she will refer you to another attorney in the Office with the appropriate expertise.

If you have not worked with our Office, we suggest that you use our online form to explain your question or issue. The form can be emailed (, faxed (520.621.9001) or delivered to our Office, and a member of our staff will contact you as soon as possible. Please be sure to include any documents or background material that might be relevant to the issue.

Please note that we cannot advise or represent individual employees on personal matters (including issues that are adverse to the University or are unrelated to the University). You may want to consult with your unit head or supervisor if you are uncertain about whether the issue is, in fact, a departmental legal issue. We can only provide advice on institutional matters, as determined by the unit head.

You are always welcome to call our Office with questions or to get additional information about what we do and how we work. We look forward to working with you.
