As Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel, Ms. Leonard advises the President, Board of Regents and other executive officers on legal issues; manages the central campus and satellite general counsel offices; and provides advice on selected matters. Ms. Leonard joined the President's management team in November 1998. She has previously worked as counsel for the University of North Carolina, the office of the Arizona Attorney General, the U.S. Department of Education and the Executive Office of the President of the United States. She is a graduate of Cornell University, the University of North Carolina Graduate School and the University of North Carolina School of Law.
